Kansas Hop Co. Brew Day
Kansas Hop Co., located outside of Ottawa, invited area homebrewers to the hop farm for a brew day on Aug. 24. The farm was established in 2015 and now produces quality local hops for craft brewers throughout the Midwest.
Hip Hops Hooray Festival
Several LBG members participated in collaboration brew days with members of the Kansas City Bier Meisters, ZZ Hops, Johnson County Brewing Society and Missouri Mashers homebrew clubs. August Meeting
The LBG met Aug. 8 for its regular meeting. Member Josh DaVee led the seminar on brewing gluten-free beers. Biermeister Jim McGovern led the tasting on American wheat beers.
August Hoppy Hour
Six Mile Chophouse & Tavern hosted the LBG’s Hoppy Hour on Aug. 1. Hoppy Hours are the first Thursday of each month and are open to LBG members and friends and those interested in joining the club, homebrewing and craft beer.
