Wow, for brand new these are great. Even if they were used, it would be tough to beat.

Just out of curiosity, are there any that use/prefer the new Better Bottles? The plastic carboys for beer/wine?

I use the better bottles. I have three and love 'em. I only wish they were 6.5 gallons instead of 6...just for the added head space.
They are gas permeable, so they are not intended for long term storage. If I intend to secondary for a long period of time, I'll use my glass carboys. Wine requires longer time in the fermenter, so get another opinion there. I know that Charlie at Homebrew Pro Shoppe does not sell the Better Bottles for that reason. He's more of a wine maker than a brewer.

I use Better Bottles. They are gas permeable? Maybe, if you live long enough... I think that glass carboys are heavy, dangerous, and overpriced.

Well for $30 they're not overpriced, but today they are back to $70 shipped, lol. So now very overpriced!
