I?m off on a road trip in mid July through North and South Dakota and Nebraska. Names of brewpubs are welcome as well as rants or raves so we know where to go and where to avoid. Cities we?ll be in include:
? Aberdeen & Rapid City SD
? Fargo & Bismarck ND
? North Platte & Lincoln NE
Reply if you know of any good ones.
Food is as important as the beer since Lisa will be along.
I'll report back after our return.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but you might find The Beer Mapping Project helpful.

What's up Dale, exchange rate got you vacationing in the US this year??
It has been awhile since we were in Vapid City, but there was a good brewpub there called the Firehouse Brewpub (we didn't eat there or anything but when we ran out of homebrew, we sent out for a couple of growler. They were good). Omaha has the Upstream Brewery. It is very good. A bit pricey, but not too bad. I have looked in Lincoln, but haven't found anything worth mentioning. I do remember a brewpub in Sioux Falls SD, but it wasn't there anymore last time I went there. I have a friend that lives up there now and will check with him and let you know.
Don't miss the Corn Palace in BFE, SD. No beer but everything corn! The whole building is covered with corn!
Have fun!
see you,
Joe

upper midwest brewpubs
We found a couple of brewpubs on our Dakotas and NE tour.
Firehouse Brewing Co, Rapid City SD, 5 or 6 styles on tap, nothing out of the ordinary but still tasty, the food was great.
Platte Valley Brewery, Kearney NE. Small beer joint, smokey, rough patrons, excellent atmosphere. Only had time for an IPA, but it was dead on crisp and bitter. Worth a stop while traversing the plains.
There are few others in these states that we didnt get to this time. Boulevard was served everywhere.
