In honour of the Fourth and 'Merica we’re tasting English Ales in July! So while 'Mericans take a day to reflect on the awesomeness of war and imperialism and drinking light 'Merican lagers and blowing shit up da derp dee derpity dum, I’d like to use this tasting to remember the roots of much of the American craft beer and homebrewing movement, which was influenced in large part by adventurous Americans traveling abroad to places like Germany, Belgium, and England and coming back Stateside and yearning for the fantastic ales crafted across the pond. Examples in this tasting could include the English IPA, ESB, Porter, Oatmeal Stout, Old Ale, or Barleywine.
Cheers!
