does yeast nutrient expire?

#1 Post by Bill » Tue Oct 05, 2010 11:22 pm

I found a container of yeast 'energizer' from B&B that I got back in 2006 when I first started brewing as a freebie from someone I didn't now.

There is no expiration date on it. Is this trash?
Thanks!

As long as the vial has been kept dry, it should be good.

Wyeast gives a build date and White Labs gives an ending date of about 1 year.

Use it.
Have Fun!

Thanks for the reply Chris. If one company gives an expiration date, I'm trashing it. I'd rather not chance it, besides, it's cheap.
Thanks!
