I received this information about another competition to pass along:
Lauri Glasgow with the Iowa Brewers Union will be at the KCBM competition in Kansas City on February 21st and can pick up our entries there. The IBU Open is a quailifying event for the High Plains Awards and one of the last Midwest competitions before AHA first rounds.

Entry Deadline: Saturday, March 7, 2009
◊ All Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) styles will be accepted, including meads and cider. The Director of Judging may combine categories with limited entries. Style guidelines are available at

◊ Competition specific category: The IBU Challenge. Category entry requirement is IBU of bitterness per 1 point OG. Example: A beer with a 1.045 OG must contain no less than 45 International Bittering Units.
◊ Medals will be awarded to winners of each category, Best in Show and the IBU Challenge.
◊ $6.00 per entry. Two bottles required. Only brown or green unmarked 10–16 oz bottles will be accepted. Bottles will not be returned.
