WARNING: Köld Front Set To Hit KS And NE

Thursday May 28, 2009

Köld is a crisp, light-tasting lager with a traditional Pilsener malt aroma and subtle notes of honey and citrus. A new straw-colored classic for the Great Plains, Köld is an easy-drinking and refreshing beer to enjoy with your friends. Köld was released in the Manhattan market on tap only on May 11, 2009, and is set to hit the rest of KS and Omaha in bottles and draught June 15!

Was in Manhattan over the holiday weekend and did try that very beer at Auntie Mae's Parlor. It's got a full mouthfeel, very creamy almost-not-quite chewy; good after-flavors, too; good all-around lager. Like Theresa just said, I just don't know about "crisp" - but it's definitely worth a try. I'm guessing it's intended to be a kolsch style, based on the name - seems a bit heavy for one, but there's a wide range and they aren't all like Frueh.

Any sulfur or diacetyl notes?

Sorry to say I just had a small one, and it was pretty "Köld" - also in a chilled glass.
