Observation - not Scientific - Brown Ale

Made Brown Ale - 12 gallons and split the batch in two. SG 1.056, Mash at 152 dF

Split PacMan yeast between both carboys sitting side by side.

Pitched WLP510 grown from slant into one carboy 8 days later.

Wish that I had taken gravity readings before pitching WLP510.

Two weeks later (total):

PacMan yeast carboy at 1.018 SG. PacMan and WLP510 yeast carboy at 1.008 SG.

Planning on putting bugs in the PacMan/510 brew.

Planning on kegging them today.

The 510 yeast is a monster on attenuation, even at 8 days with alcohol already in the beer I bet it didn't look twice-- just chomped. Reminds me of Wyeast's 9033 Imperial Blend. It is kinda like sending the infantry in Patton style. :bom:

I agree, pretty neat yeast

I have 12 gallons of amber ale (1.056 SG) split, one with 3711 and the other with 510. I am expecting about 90% ADF from both yeasts. It has been a week and both are going strong (temp at 66-68 dF). Mash was 152 dF. Both will get bugged.
