The LBG-23rd Street Brewery collaboration beer went on tap May 13 at the brewery as part of American Craft Beer Week. This year’s collaboration is a full-bodied IPA with hints of rye and oats. Late additions of Citra, New Zealand Rakua and Zythos hops give the beer a decidingly citrusy nose and flavor. A special cask-conditioned version of the collaboration that was separately dry-hopped with Citra and Rakau hops and orange and grapefruit zest was part of a firkin tapping May 15. Members involved were Matt Bechtold, Tara Taylor, Chris Stenger, Orval Engling, Barry Fitzgerald and Clint Wedel. They were assisted by LBG members and 23rd Street brewers Russell Brickell and Tucker Craig.
