About Us

The Lawrence Brewers Guild, established in 1995, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyment of homebrewing and to promote the responsible use of alcoholic beverages. The guild meets the second Thursday of every month for a business meeting, featured beer tasting and seminar.

Parkville Microbrew Festival

Several members donated and served beer at the LBG’s booth at the Parkville Microbrew Festival April 28 in English Landing Park in Parkville, Mo. The event featured 50+ breweries and several homebrew clubs.
LBG-23rd Street Collaboration

LBG-23rd Street Collaboration

The seventh LBG-23rd Street Brewery collaboration beer recently went on tap! This year’s collaboration is an Australian sparkling ale. The beer is a pale ale brewed with Australian ale yeast and AU Galaxy hops. The yeast gives a bready, slightly estery flavor. It’s slightly hypercarbonated for a “spritzy” mouthfeel. The LBG met April 12 for its regular meeting. Vice President Courtney Servaes led the seminar on highlighting homebrew setups of several members. Biermeister Bob Dieterle led the tasting on spring seasonal beers.

Brews on the Bricks

Congrats to Sara Albrecht and Aaron Hale for representing the LBG on April 7 at the Brews on the Bricks Homebrew Competition in Hays! Sara earned second place in the People’s Choice category, and Aaron won second place in the Brewers Choice category.
