About Us

The Lawrence Brewers Guild, established in 1995, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyment of homebrewing and to promote the responsible use of alcoholic beverages. The guild meets the second Thursday of every month for a business meeting, featured beer tasting and seminar.

LBG + Servaes Collab

LBG members participated in a collaboration brew day Feb. 23 at Servaes Brewing Co. in downtown Shawnee. Servaes is owned by LBG member Courtney Servaes. February Meeting

February Meeting

The LBG met Feb. 13 for its regular meeting. Vice President Leigh Keck led the seminar on BJCP guidelines and judging. Biermeister Jim McGovern led the tasting on four beers brewed by member Russell Brickell and Treasurer Jake Jeffers. They brewed a 10-gallon batch of beer together but used four different yeasts for fermentation.

February Hoppy Hour

Red Lyon Tavern hosted the LBG’s Hoppy Hour on Feb. 6. Hoppy Hours are the first Thursday of each month and are open to LBG members and friends and those interested in joining the club, homebrewing and craft beer.

January Meeting

The LBG met Jan. 9 for its regular meeting. The seminar included a troubleshooting panel with members Russell Brickell, Angelo Ruiz, Frank Dillon and Bowe Neuenschwander. Biermeister Jim McGovern led the tasting on the first round of the LBG’s “Finest Four” beers.
