Any recommendations on what hops would do well in the Lawrence area if I decide to grow my own?

Cascade. I planted two rhizomes over at my folks' place six years ago, and they've done extremely well. I had to thin out the rhizomes this spring -- they spread aggressively -- and had some cuttings a few weeks ago, but some other enterprising folks claimed them.

The Perle and Chinook I planted years ago did pretty well.
One of 'em keeps coming up in the same location after a few years of neglect, problem is I can't tell which one.

Ask Shane, he has some lovely hops a-growin', cascade and one or two others.

This is their first year, but I have cascade and nugget hops growing to beat the bandwagon. I've thought about putting up a web cam just to watch them grow.
