If you have never used them, there are a few buttons that come in handy. You can get to them through Actions or at the top of the recipe header.
The two that I like to use are the Gravity and Bitterness buttons.
Assume that you have a recipe that you really like but would like to size it down or up. As an example, a 5% ABV drink to lower the overall ABV to something smaller.
Let assume that the OG is 1.052 SG with a Bitterness Ratio of .875 and you want a 1.046 SG and a Bitterness Ratio of .875.
Duplicate your original recipe (right click). Open the recipe. Click Gravity button and type in 1.046 SG and the malt weight will change. Click the Bitterness button and enter some number lower than the original displayed value. Depending on the number of hops used, you can either keep entering different numbers in the Bitterness to get back to the ratio or use the Increase or Decrease button to change the individual hop.
A real time saver to scale a recipe around.

It would be really cool sometime for a seminar to have two laptops one operated by a proficient Beersmith person, and the other Promash. The users could give a little tour of each on the big screen for all the club to see. Sean did a similar type thing a few years ago. The Church has a big screen to plug into... I think a 10-15 min tour on each program would be a nice taste of each for the club to get a handle on these programs.

Great idea for seminar. There are a couple free software programs for us open source cheapskates too. Strangebrew and Qbrew (I use both) we could talk a little about those too.
