American Homebrewers Association Rally
Several LBG members attended and volunteered at the American Homebrewers Association Rally on Oct. 18 at Free State Brewing’s production facility. The event was the first AHA rally in Kansas and included beer samples and raffle prizes. The LBG ran the concession stand for attendees. Check out the story and video by Channel 6 here....
October Meeting
The LBG met on Oct. 9 for its monthly meeting. The tasting was sweet potato beers from Free State Brewing’s recipe contest and included a discussion panel with Bob Dieterle, Frank Dillon, Jake Jeffers, Jenalea Myers, Angelo Ruiz and Chris Stenger. Jake won the contest and got to brew his beer at the brewery on Oct. 7.
Free State Sweet Potato Beer Recipe Contest
LBG member Jake Jeffers won Free State Brewing’s sweet potato beer recipe contest. Free State contacted the guild in August regarding the contest, which included members brewing test batches of sweet potato beer and submitting them to the brewery for judging. Great American Beer Festival
A few LBG members attended the Great American Beer Festival Oct. 2-4 in Denver. The festival is the premier U.S. beer festival and competition, representing the largest collection of U.S. beer served in a public tasting event. To see the 2014 GABF winners, click here.
